A delicious kick start to the fundraising campaign

We kicked off our fundraising campaign for the new children’s play area by running the Skipton Town Hall Charity Cafe on 1st May bank holiday. It was great to see so many faces supporting us on the day and to also meet visitors to Skipton. It gave us a great opportunity to share our exciting plans for the park. Cafe customers throughout the day enjoyed a selection of hot breakfast sandwiches, teacakes, homemade soup, homemade baking, pies and peas.

The event was supported with a donation from the wonderful people at Keelham’s Farm Shop, who supplied all the meat, pies and bread products. And on the day we raised a wonderful £700, bringing our total raised so far to £13,300.

We would like to say a massive thank you to all of our wonderful hard working volunteers who helped to run the cafe on the day as well as all the talented bakers and bunting makers and of course all of you lovely people who were our customers. It was a great start to our fundraising campaign and watch this space for future events.

Friends of Aireville Park

We are the Friends of Aireville Park (FoAP) and we are an established, Skipton based, community organisation. We have 6 core volunteer committee members and over 400 followers on social media. We are a group of parents, dog walkers, runners, cyclists and locals who love the park. The committee formed in April 2013 to work as a team to improve the park with a core purpose of encouraging wider use of the park and a sense of community ownership through our fundraising for park improvements, conservation of unique and natural features and holding a variety of community events in the park. We are the latest winners of the 2016 Craven Community Champion Award for a Greener Craven. We work closely with the park owners, Craven District Council (CDC), to represent the voice of the community and to push for the improvements that will transform Aireville Park in to the community hub that Skipton needs and deserves.
