The playground is happening!

celebration

We are DELIGHTED to announce that, thanks to a very generous grant of nearly £50,000 from Yorventure and on-going support from fabulous local groups and businesses, we are now able to proceed with the first phase of our new playground. Tender bids are due in on 1st June and we are scheduled to begin construction THIS AUGUST!

There’s still some way to go to secure funding for all the awesome equipment we’d like installed in the playground, so do get in touch if you’d like to help us with our final fundraising push on friendsofairevillepark@gmail.com.

In the meantime, we’re planning an exciting stall for Sheep Day and another community picnic in the park. Watch this space!

Donation from local farm shop

We are delighted with the latest donation that arrived in the post!  A very generous cheque for £750, that will go towards the new play area.  We also got a lovely message from its sender Keelham Farm Shop.

“We first came across the Friends of Aireville Park last year when they won Best Community Group at the fantastic Craven Community Champions Awards – a category which Keelham proudly sponsors every year. We were so impressed with their work, we offered to make a donation from the sale of our carrier bags for two months to their cause. We’d like to thank our customers who helped us raise £750 for the group who do such a wonderful job in maintaining and improving this fantastic local green space that will soon be enhanced by brand a new play area.”  Victoria Robertshaw, co-owner of Keelham Farm Shop.
